Where to stay when climbing Kilimanjaro, accommodation options vary depending on the stage of your journey. Before and after the climb, you can stay in climbing Kilimanjaro Hotels or lodges in nearby towns like Moshi or Arusha. During the climb, accommodation is typically in mountain huts or camping tents provided by tour operators, with Marangu and Rongai routes offering hut accommodations. These huts have dining rooms and bunk beds with mattresses and pillows. On other routes, climbers will need to camp in tents. The quality and style of accommodations can vary from budget to more luxurious, depending on your preferences and budget.

After successfully summiting Mount Kilimanjaro, your accommodation may vary. Some tour packages include post-climb accommodations where you can rest and recover from your trek. These accommodations often offer comfort and relaxation, allowing you to unwind and reflect on your achievements.

WHERE TO STAY BEFORE YOU CLIMB KILIMANJARO

You will arrive in Moshi town before climbing Kilimanjaro. We provide transport from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) to your accommodation. Your Mount Kilimanjaro accommodation before and after your climb is included in your booked service. Here is also where our guides will meet you before climbing Kilimanjaro and will explain to you what to expect on the mountain, and your climbing route, to check your equipment according to our Kilimanjaro Gear List for your health condition, and let you ask all further questions that you might have. You will be able to leave the luggage that you don’t need during your climb at your accommodation where it will be kept securely. MOUNT KILIMANJARO GUIDE offers 3 different categories of accommodation according to your individual preferences.

THE MOUNT KILIMANJARO ACCOMMODATION CATEGORIES ARE:

ADVENTURE 

You will stay in a clean, calm, budget accommodation with a pool to relax before and after your climb. The accommodation offers a private restaurant and a garden. It is the perfect choice for all budget travelers to climb Kilimanjaro. 2** – 3***

COMFORT

This category offers a wide variety of spacious rooms, a rooftop terrace, and a big pool to relax, especially after your climb. It meets international standards of 3*** – 4 ****

LUXURY 

Our luxury accommodations offer a big garden on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. You will enjoy all the comforts of a 4 **** – 5***** hotel & restaurant in a calm and friendly environment. It is the perfect choice for climbers who want to add some special architecture and environment to their Kilimanjaro climb.

KILIMANJARO ACCOMMODATION IN HOTELS 

• Our prices include accommodation on a sharing basis in a double or twin room with your fellow travelers. If you travel alone, we will match you with a same-sex traveler to share a room. If you want to stay in your room alone, please inform our managers at the time of booking. Extra charges for staying in your room alone may apply.
• Accommodation type and setup for our private adventures are agreed upon with our consultants individually.
• Our Kilimanjaro climbing tour includes hotel accommodations as described in the respective travel packages on our website. In some cases, however, those hotels may be fully booked. We will notify you and pick an alternative hotel.

TENTED ACCOMMODATION ON MOUNT KILIMANJARO 

Our Kilimanjaro climbing packages include tented accommodation on a sharing basis (2 travelers per tent). You will share a tent with your fellow traveler. If you travel alone, we will match you with a same-sex traveler to share a tent.

• If you want to stay in a tent alone, please inform our managers at the time of booking. Extra charges to stay in a tent alone will apply.

There are times when getting a good night’s sleep is naturally more difficult on Kilimanjaro. This is particularly the case when you reach the high altitude zones.

The good news is that with a little bit of foresight and knowledge beforehand, you can make your accommodation more comfortable during your climb.

However, it is also worth noting that the type of accommodation available will depend upon the route you take. It will also depend on your budget and what type of tour you take.
